The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is a specialist art and design University, with several campuses across the South of England. They offer their students a range of courses in art, design, fashion and architecture subjects. Having worked in the past with UCA Farnham, WildSide Design were this time working with UCA Cantebury to develop an academic writing guide. We developed a web application that centered around an example essay. When hovering over the essay information was presented to explain the section being moused over, with further information being available to view should a student wish. The essay and explanatory text were narrated to increase accessibilty, and audio players were embedded within the application to give easy access to the narration. A key was implemented to allow quick access to explanations of each section of the essay; relevant parts of the essay were highlighted when selected from the key.
